Essex Linen

Robert Kaufman Essex linens have been a huge surprise hit for us here at Olive and Flo Handcraft, with our initial selection going fast, probably because of our super introductory offer.  They are a super fabric which work wonderfully as a background but would also work equally well as feature fabrics in their own right.

We have both the Yarn Dyed linen and the simple linen in several colours in stock.  The Yarn Dyes have a different warp and weft colour which gives them a light feel, but interesting texture.  These, especially the olive, are a favourite background of Elizabeth Hartman - she of the 'Fancy Fox and Fancy Forest' fame.  Equally these go so well with the wonderful Liberty Tana Lawn and I also think they would work well for garment making. Kaufman have a free pattern listed on their website for a lovely simple t-shirt in the Essex linen range -

The Essex linens are slightly stiffer in texture, but work equally well in quilts - I use these as backgrounds but again they would work well as feature fabrics or for garment making.

Do take a moment to have a look at our range as this special offer price only lasts until the end of December!

Thank you for the beautiful birdsong panels from Dashwood studios which arrived from you this week. Also thank you for the gold striped fabric which you very kindly enclosed. I know it’s a bit early to be thinking about Christmas, but I just wanted to let you know it is perfect for a Christmas project I have in mind.
    Best wishes,
